Recently transplanted from Atlanta, where I wrote and performed with my former band Three People for the past 8 years, I’m now exploring what it feels like to set my roots in the South Georgia clay, and how I might exist in the world as a solo performing songwriter. This space will be a home base for those who want to keep up with what I’m doing and lend their support.

As a daughter of a Marine, I’ve spent my life as a nomad – not only moving from place to place, but everything that comes with that, good and bad: being immersed in other cultures and surrounded by people who look, act, and believe differently than me, collecting ideas and values like souvenirs and weaving them into my self, recurrent loss of people and places, and a reliable supply of new ones to take their place, deep explorations of trust, belonging, and love, and living inside a world where no one is untouched by trauma. For the past 16 years my day job has been providing trauma therapy to clients and teaching other therapists to do the same. In that vein, my life’s work has been to erase, hide, and disappear myself in many ways in service to making room for other people to receive support and encouragement to be fully seen. While that’s incredibly rewarding, I’m growing more and more interested in the ways that I can offer something to the world by showing up more fully. May this little home on the world wide web be the start of my taking up that kind of space.

These days I’m spending a lot of time writing, collaborating with other songwriters, driving 1-4 hours to “local” open mics or listening rooms, recording demos and work tapes in my home studio with a goal of placing songs with other artists or in tv/film/commercials, and working towards my first solo album.
